Everyone wishes to be happy all the time, but we cannot achieve this goal unless we attain lasting inner peace. In this class we will learn basic meditation techniques and Buddhist advice that can help us to become happy and peaceful from within. Each class includes two guided meditations and a teaching on a Buddhist topic.
Everyone is welcome. No meditation experience is necessary.
Classes in July and August 2019 will be taught by meditation teacher, Julie Francisco. Gen Tenzin will resume teaching in September.
Gen Tenzin is a Buddhist monk of over 20 years and has taught Kadampa Buddhism extensively for over 21 years throughout the United States. As a senior Kadampa student and teacher, he is a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
Julie has studied and taught Kadampa Buddhism for many years. She has also engaged in extensive meditation retreat and is well-qualified to introduce others into Buddha’s teachings and meditation practices. An executive assistant at an international consulting firm by profession, Julie shows a clear example of how to be a modern, lay Buddhist practitioner in a busy city and presents Buddha’s teachings in an eloquent and inspiring manner.
