Day Retreat: Meditations for a Peaceful Work Life

Take time out from your hectic schedule to rest, recharge, and re-center. On this day, we will meditate and receive special advice on how to be happy at work, even under stressful circumstances.
Since work is such a large part of our lives here in the city, if we can stay peaceful at work then we will be peaceful a majority of our day. Then, we can enjoy our family, friends, and life here, and find the real meaning of human life – lasting peace.
This retreat will be based on The Mirror of Dharma, a special meditation manual.
Guided by Resident Teacher and senior Buddhist monk, Gen Tenzin, and Buddhist teacher, Jen DeSantis.
10:30-11:30am: Session 1
1:00-2:00pm: Session 2
3:00-4:00pm: Session 3
5:00-6:00pm: Session 4

Gen Tenzin is a Buddhist monk of over 20 years and has taught Kadampa Buddhism extensively for over 21 years throughout the United States. As a senior Kadampa student and teacher, he is a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Through emphasizing the Bodhisattva’s way of life, he encourages all the students at the center to bring their practice of Buddha’s teachings into their daily lives, bringing joy to as many people as possible. He has a great depth of understanding of the teachings and is skillful in his presentation by sharing them in an entertaining, approachable, and kind-hearted manner.
