 Foundation Program
on Universal Compassion: Inspiring Solutions for Difficult Times

For students who wish to deepen their study of Buddha’s teachings, KMC Philadelphia offers the Foundation Program class.  On Foundation Program, students have the opportunity to study a Buddhist book in detail, from cover to cover. This way of studying provides a unique way of deepening one’s knowledge and experience of Buddhism.

This class is currently studying the text, Universal Compassion, Inspiring Solutions for Difficult Times, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Taught by Buddhist monk and Resident Teacher, Gen Tenzin.

Students are welcome to join Foundation Program at any time.

chogyop2-pic-230x300Gen Kelsang Chogyop is a Buddhist nun and a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. She is the main teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Philadelphia. Gen Chogyop has been studying and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for more than 20 years, and is known for her warm heart, practical teachings and sincere practice of Dharma. She provides an inspiring example of a modern Buddhist practitioner.

Through emphasizing the Bodhisattva’s way of life, she encourages all the students at the center to bring their practice of Buddha’s teachings into their daily lives, bringing joy to as many people as possible.
