on Universal Compassion: Inspiring Solutions for Difficult Times

For students who wish to deepen their study of Buddha’s teachings, KMC Philadelphia offers the Foundation Program class.  On Foundation Program, students have the opportunity to study a Buddhist book in detail, from cover to cover. This way of studying provides a unique way of deepening one’s knowledge and experience of Buddhism.

This class is currently studying the text, Universal Compassion, Inspiring Solutions for Difficult Times, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Taught by Buddhist monk and Resident Teacher, Gen Tenzin.

GenTenzin_2017(2)Gen Tenzin is a Buddhist monk of over 20 years and has taught Kadampa Buddhism extensively for over 21 years throughout the United States. As a senior Kadampa student and teacher, he is a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

As the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Philadelphia, Gen Tenzin teaches Teacher Training Program, Foundation Program, General Program classes, day courses, and leads retreats. He also grants Tantric initiations.

Through emphasizing the Bodhisattva’s way of life, he encourages all the students at the center to bring their practice of Buddha’s teachings into their daily lives, bringing joy to as many people as possible. He has a great depth of understanding of the teachings and is skillful in his presentation by sharing them in an entertaining, approachable, and kind-hearted manner.
